bankmore is an IT consultancy owned and run by Patrick McCann based in Derry/Londonderry. The foundations of bankmore are based on an impeccable track record of project and programme management in both software development and infrastructure projects. These projects have been delivered to customers throughtout the UK and Ireland. Patrick has experience in managing projects with budgets up to £10m.

History

Patrick has been in the Information Technology arena for over 20 years. Having graduated from the University of Ulster, he started writing programs in the Dataflex 4GL language on the Unix operating systems for the Department of Agriculture for Northern Ireland. He progressed to CCSI Europe Limited (now Interval International) where he developed in the programming language Informix 4GL. The software being developed was a resort management system for the hotel and leisure industry. Here, Patrick also took a project lead role on managing the development and implementation of some of the core functionality. 

From CCSI, Patrick joined the Abbey National bank where he took a Project Lead role in delivering the fulfilment component of a contact centre based telephony system.  Patrick then managed the full software development for the launch of the Internet channel for Abbey National Business Banking. This was based on the Fiserv banking engine.

Following on from the success of Abbey National Business Banking, Patrick progressed to Halifax where he continued to manage the design/development of the following enterprise scale banking platforms, Corporate Online, iSite, Halifax Ireland and Halifax International. He was considered a subject matter expert in use case analysis, prototyping techniques, e-commerce security design and payments workflow design.

Following the financial crisis, the need for new transactional banking systems had diminished. Patrick was tasked with leading several infrastructure programmes which would lead to huge savings for Lloyds Banking Group. The first of these was an infrastructure renewal programme to refresh the printer estate in heritage HBOS. Another programme managed by Patrick was an initiative to remove outdated storage from the LTSB datacentres. This programme delivered huge savings on power, cooling and maintenance costs.
